Wally Yachts, a renowned name in the world of yachting, is making waves once again following the introduction of its latest models – the wallywhy150, a 24m ‘spaceship’ motor yacht and the recently delivered wally101, a full custom, 31m sailing yacht. These newest additions to the fleet showcase Wally’s ongoing commitment to pushing the boundaries of design, engineering, and performance.
Ahead of its time: wallywhy150
The wallywhy150, often referred to as the ‘little sister’ of the wallywhy200, is more than just a smaller pocket-sized yacht; she represents the evolution of the Wally ‘spaceship’ line. Her innovative design redefines space and features typically found on much larger yachts, resulting in a generous 150GT volume. Measuring 24 metres in length, this planing yacht seeks to redefine the parameters of yachting.
One of the most striking features of the wallywhy150 is her forward owner’s suite, boasting wrap-around glazing and a high bow that provides a breathtaking 270-degree view from the bed. The use of floor-to-ceiling glass in her main saloon floods the space with natural light, while the impressive 2.5m headroom and flush decking create a seamless transition between the saloon and the cockpit, providing her owners with direct access to the sea.
Her exterior styling is equally awe-inspiring, with exaggerated curving lines and extensive outdoor spaces, including a spacious sundeck with complete dining options and a sophisticated bar. The flexible platform ensures her lower deck can be configured with two or three guest cabin layouts. Her performance is equally impressive, as she can be powered by three optional Volvo Penta IPS1350 or standard IPS1200 engines, providing a top speed of up to 23 knots and unmatched manoeuvrability. Officially debuting at the Venice Boat Show 2023, the wallywhy150 yacht is currently on display at Waterfront by the exclusive Costa Smeralda in Sardegna until the end of July.
The ultimate racer-cruiser: wally101
The recently delivered wally101, a 30.48-meter sailing yacht, showcases Wally’s expertise in building high-speed racing yachts with powerful sail plans and planing hulls. Built from a lightweight carbon fibre sandwich, she only weighs 56 tonnes. She also features a lifting keel that increases the draft from 4.7 metres to 6.8 metres, ensuring she is fully designed for unparalleled upwind performance.
Her sleek and powerful exterior design is the work of Wally and Santa Maria Magnolfi,
While the naval architecture comes courtesy of Judel/Vrolijk & Co. Her open deck layout includes a dining table large enough to welcome eight guests by the extensive cockpit.
Inside, the wally101 balances high performance with a family-friendly layout, with a living and dining area complete with a table that can house up to 12 guests. Providing comfortable accommodation for up to six guests across three staterooms, including an owner’s suite with an ensuite bathroom and a walk-in wardrobe, she also offers two ensuite crew cabins.
Powered by a 425 HP engine when not sailing, the wally101 can easily reach a top speed of 11.5 knots.
Together, the wallywhy150 yacht and wally101 yacht represent a harmonious blend of innovative features, unparalleled performance, and luxurious comfort. As Wally Yachts continues to expand its fleet, the shipyard reaffirms its position at the forefront of sailing and motor yacht design, consistently setting new standards for the industry.
